Frequently asked details
What is Truemed?
Truemed is an independent service that connects you with licensed medical providers who can determine if certain wellness expenses, such as gym memberships and fitness programs, are medically necessary for you. If you qualify, they issue a Letter of Medical Necessity that you can use to seek reimbursement from your HSA/FSA plan.
Do I pay Enova with my HSA/FSA card?
In most cases, you will pay Enova with your standard debit or credit card and then submit your receipt, together with your Letter of Medical Necessity, to your HSA/FSA administrator for reimbursement. Some plans may allow direct payment with an HSA/FSA card, but the reimbursement route is often recommended for compliance. Always follow the instructions from Truemed and your plan administrator.
Which Enova services can I use Truemed for?
Enova services that may qualify include personal training, semi-private training memberships, and nutrition coaching, as long as a Truemed provider deems them medically necessary and your HSA/FSA administrator accepts them. Enova cannot pre-determine eligibility for individual clients; that decision is made by the provider and your plan.
Does using Truemed guarantee reimbursement?
No. Truemed helps with clinical review and documentation, but your HSA/FSA administrator has the final say.
How long does reimbursement usually take?
Processing times vary by HSA/FSA administrator. Many plans review and approve valid claims within a few weeks once you submit your Letter of Medical Necessity and receipts, but timelines are not controlled by Enova or Truemed.
Do I have to redo the Truemed survey every time?
Typically, a Letter of Medical Necessity is valid for a set period of time, often up to 12 months, for specified services. As long as your LMN is valid and covers your Enova services, you usually will not need to redo the survey for each purchase, but you will still need to submit receipts to your HSA/FSA administrator.
